| LARRY COLES (aka RuthlessBatty) An ancient soul wandering the modern world - patiently awaiting my next incarnation! |
| ************************************************************************************** AUGUST 2008 NEWS: On August 4, 2008, my partner Darrin and I are getting married at S.F. City Hall. We met on August 3, 2001, married the first time on February 20, 2004 (that was annulled by the California Supreme Court). So, we're going to do it again! ************************************************************************************** MAY 2008 NEWS: On Thursday, May 15, 2008, the California Supreme Court, by a 4-3 vote, reversed its original August 2004 decision that denied same sex couples the right to marry. In its 175 page decision, the Court ruled that same sex couples deserve the same Constitutional right to marry as a man and a woman. ************************************************************************************** I was born and raised in Bridgeton, NJ, along with 3 younger sisters. I graduated from Bridgeton High School in 1977. I received a B.A. degree from Clarion State College (now Clarion University of PA) in December of 1981. In May of 1982, I moved to San Francisco, CA, where I remain to this day! I'm a legal secretary (20+ years) who began writing stories for myself in the mid-1990s, and then began writing in earnest in 2000. I live with my partner, Darrin (who did the artwork for the cover to my specification), and our four-year-old chocolate brown (Darrin says black) cat, Armand. We met in August of 2001; he moved to San Francisco in February of 2002. I write as often as possible - after work and on weekends. I participate in National Novel Writing Month in November (2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007). I find NaNoWriMo to be a great way to start new stories because you can toss in the kitchen sink and edit out the crap after November ends. I participate in the annual AIDS Walk SF, and have done so since its inception in 1986. PD Publishing accepted my submission in October 2005 and published my first novel "Freshman Pledge" in March of 2007. I am grateful to them for their support and encouragement. I'd like to thank those of you who leave messages regarding "Freshman Pledge" in my GuestBook. I really do appreciate your kind words and am glad you enjoyed the book. |
